JOB TECH FOR REFUGEES
Funded by the Hilton Foundation, the project seeks to connect urban refugees to work on Jobtech platforms. The project works on the demand-side through the Jobtech Alliance to identify platforms in Uganda that need support which will allow them to scale, have impact and be more inclusive. On the supply side, the project partners with Refugee Led Organizations (RLOs) to identify barriers to access and collaboratively design sprints (engagements) in which refugees can take advantage of the presented job opportunities on jobtech platforms.
YARID, in partnership with the Jobtech Alliance, is tasked with identifying, mobilizing and training participants including refugees as and when platform work opportunities arise.
Currently, the project has 4 active platform, Jumia Wowzi, Rwasi,Kyosk,Wasoko,Ride link and Kolaborate Uganda, Safe Boda is one of the platforms in the pipeline.
Jobtech for Refugees is a project implemented by the Jobtech Alliance program supported by Mercy Corps and BFA Global.
